Here at innocent, we’re on a mission to make it easier for everyone to get more fruit and veg into their bodies. We started back in 1999 and since then we’ve gone from selling a few smoothies at a music festival to becoming one of Europe’s biggest drinks companies with around 1,000 people (and the B Corp seal of approval).

It’s nice to be able to say things like that but we’re not patting ourselves on the back just yet. We want to show everyone that it’s possible to be a successful business while looking after people and the planet too, so we’re trying to get better in pretty much every way. And that’s where this job comes in.

A bit about the role

Data is becoming one of innocent's most important ingredients. We're investing in a modern Microsoft analytics platform that brings together information from across our business to help teams understand what's happening, spot opportunities, and act with confidence to achieve our ambitions as a company

As a BI Developer, you'll help build the trusted data products that sit at the heart of this. You'll turn data from multiple systems into clear, reliable models that people across the business trust and consume via enterprise reports and self-serve analytics. Working with SQL, Kimball data modelling concepts, Microsoft Fabric and Power BI, you'll help create the foundations that supports reporting today and future Artificial Intelligence (AI) capabilities tomorrow.

This isn't a role for someone who wants to spend all day hidden behind code. The best solutions come from understanding how the business actually works, so we'll be looking for someone who's naturally curious, asks good questions, and enjoys getting close to the processes, people and decisions behind the data.

You'll be

  • Designing and building enterprise data products that combine data from multiple business systems into trusted analytical datasets.

  • Creating fact and dimension models that make complex business data easy to understand and use.

  • Developing views, stored procedures and transformation logic using Transact-SQL (T-SQL).

  • Building and optimising Power BI semantic models that support reporting and self-serve analytics.

  • Turning business requirements into scalable data solutions that can be reused across teams.

  • Supporting and improving the performance, quality and reliability of analytics solutions.

  • Working closely with BI Analysts, Data Engineers and business stakeholders to solve real business problems.

  • Sharing knowledge, contributing to development standards and helping raise the bar for analytics across innocent.

You'll have

  • Strong experience creating dimensional data models using fact and dimension tables.

  • Excellent T-SQL skills, including views, stored procedures and query optimisation.

  • A good understanding of Kimball data modelling concepts including grain, surrogate keys, conformed dimensions, and star schemas.

  • Experience turning raw or operational data into trusted, business-ready datasets.

  • The ability to investigate complex data issues and work through them logically.

  • Confidence explaining technical concepts to people who don't live and breathe data.

You'll get

  • The chance to shape how trusted data is built and used across innocent.

  • Exposure to Microsoft Fabric, SQL Server, Power BI and Azure as part of our evolving analytics platform.

  • Opportunities to work with teams across Commercial, Marketing, Finance, and Supply Chain

  • The opportunity to build data products that will be used by hundreds of people across the business.

  • A seat at the table as we develop our future data and AI capabilities.

  • Colleagues who care about good design, simple solutions and helping each other learn.

  • The freedom to introduce better ways of working, challenge assumptions, and leave things in a better place than you found them.

If you think you have everything we're looking for and more, then please have a chat with Tejmal Khunti and inform your manager before applying.  You'll need to get your skates on though, as applications close 21st September.
